Ebba Bruce (b. 1996, Gothenburg, lives and works in Stockholm) explores queer space, identities and bodies in her work. Her process starts with gatherings of people who identify as queer, invited through selected organisations. In these meetings, personal stories around everyday objects and reflections of what a queer space can be is shared through conversation and writing. This creates a room for possible queer exploration and belonging. I Take the Liberty to Move Wherever I Want, features work in brass, copper, aluminium, steel and stone, materials that are deeply embedded in traditional power structures, here used to emphasize idenitites and bodies that have often been erased in the historical storytelling.
She is completing her MFA at CRAFT! in Jewellery and Corpus at Konstfack University and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2024). She was awarded the annual grant at Halland’s Vårsalong in Halmstad, Sweden (2026). Her work has been exhibited at Liljevalch’s Vårsalong, Stockholm (2025), Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo (2023), Munich Jewellery Week (2023, 2024), Pinakothek der Moderne during Munich Jewellery Week (2026), Athens Jewellery Week (2024), Legnica Silver Festival, Poland (2023), Kulturhuset Klaraboxen, Stockholm (2025), The Cell, Stockholm (2025) and Gallery Format, Oslo (2022).
The Forest
No mirrors encountered.
No sudden body dysmorphia.
No excluding public bathrooms.
Just moss, trees and blueberry bush.
There your pee can travel from body to ground,
nurturing everything around you
- which you are a part of.
You fucking love the forest.
